๐Ÿ“– The Chaos in My Head

Hi, Iโ€™m Elias. Iโ€™m 20, I grew up in Flanders, but as you can probably tell, English is still my go-to language. Oh, and I have ADHD. Sounds like chaos, right? Wellโ€ฆ it is sometimes.

Take this morning, for example. I woke up determined to start my day right, but then I spent 30 minutes looking for my notebook, forgot to eat breakfast, and somehow ended up deep-diving into videos about space travel. All before 9 AM.โ€

And the thing is, ADHD isnโ€™t just about being โ€˜distracted.โ€™ Itโ€™s also feeling like your mind is a tornado of ideas, but you canโ€™t catch any of them.

But hereโ€™s what Iโ€™ve learned: I need structure, but it has to work for me. For example, I use something I call the โ€˜5-minute dump.โ€™ Every morning, I write down everything in my headโ€”tasks, random thoughts, even the weird ones. Once itโ€™s on paper, my brain calms down a bit, and I can pick the top three things to focus on.

Itโ€™s not perfect, but it helps. And honestly? Thatโ€™s enough for today.
