Hi, Iโm Elias. Iโm 20, I grew up in Flanders, but as you can probably tell, English is still my go-to language. Oh, and I have ADHD. Sounds like chaos, right? Wellโฆ it is sometimes.
Take this morning, for example. I woke up determined to start my day right, but then I spent 30 minutes looking for my notebook, forgot to eat breakfast, and somehow ended up deep-diving into videos about space travel. All before 9 AM.โ
And the thing is, ADHD isnโt just about being โdistracted.โ Itโs also feeling like your mind is a tornado of ideas, but you canโt catch any of them.
But hereโs what Iโve learned: I need structure, but it has to work for me. For example, I use something I call the โ5-minute dump.โ Every morning, I write down everything in my headโtasks, random thoughts, even the weird ones. Once itโs on paper, my brain calms down a bit, and I can pick the top three things to focus on.
Itโs not perfect, but it helps. And honestly? Thatโs enough for today.
