The weekend is here and I had plans. Key word: had.
Every time, I tell myself: ‘This weekend, I’ll be productive. I’ll clean, I’ll catch up on work, I’ll finally organize my closet.’ And then… suddenly it’s Sunday night, and I have no idea what happened.
ADHD time blindness is wild. I always think I have plenty of time, until I don’t. The worst part? I’ll even write down my plans—like, fully map them out—just to completely ignore them.
And let’s not even talk about New Year’s resolutions. Wasn’t it just January 1st? I swear I had all these big plans for the month, and somehow, it just… disappeared.
So, here’s what I’m trying instead: Instead of writing down 10 things I probably won’t do, I pick just one priority per day. That way, even if ADHD derails my plans, at least I get something done. Only one task a day on the list: Saturday – Laundry, Sunday – Groceries.
also use the ‘Bookend Method.’ I set one task at the start of the weekend and one at the end. Anything else? Bonus points. No pressure.
So yeah… Friday is here, my plans are technically still intact… for now. But let’s be real—by Sunday night, I’ll probably be wondering where the weekend went.
What’s one thing you actually plan to do this weekend? And… will it happen? Let’s find out together!
